An update: The purpose of my website is two fold; I want to share my vision in a blog/type format and my progresses. This is an open journal so people can see where the efforts are going.
I met with Director Bill Janes, Fl. Office of Drug Control in May. We talked about my daughter, Jennifer, her death and the fight to save her. We shared ideas and although we did not agree on every topic I am addressing, I respect his opinion and value his input.
In June, I met with Chief Legislative Asst. Ms. LaBonte to address my vision and go over my ideas of The Jennifer Act. She is most delightful and insightful of the Senate and the laws. I am thankful for all the wonderful people who are assisting me.
Years ago, I remember speaking with former Gov. Jeb Bush about my daughter, Jennifer when he was at a fundraiser in St.Petersburg, Fl. I explained to him her addiction and my quest to save my daughter from the bondage of opiate addiction. I will never forget that encounter. He listened, was kind and concerned about my daughter and my plight and he connected me to the Fl.Drug Czar at the time, Sec. Jim McDonough. Mr. McDonough guided me with compassion and was somewhat amazed at my determination to save Jennifer. I bring this same drive and passion with me today as my idea of The Jennifer Act becomes a law to help the helpless.
